The Spring Street Park is a collaboration between the Architectural Division of the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering and Lehrer Architects LA.  As residential density has increased in this burgeoning area of Downtown Los Angeles, the need for additional infrastructure has become evident, and this new urban park will provide much needed outdoor public space to the neighborhood.

Lehrer Architects was brought into the process by the City of Los Angeles to provide design leadership in the development of the park.  Heading the Team of landscape architects from the Bureau of Engineering, water feature designer Fluidity, and artist Rebeca Mendez, Lehrer Architects has defined the design direction of urban intervention and place making and has been the public face of the Team during presentations and workshops throughout the Community Outreach process.  The design tools of drawings, large scale working models, and renderings is integral not only to LA’s design methodology but also in engaging the larger Community audience.
