Alvarado Tiny Home Village

The challenge for the Alvarado Tiny Home Village site was maximizing the existing parking lot for units and amenities while creating a significant central gathering space. Vibrant communal areas use bold colors, while nuanced color enhance circulation spaces. The site, bisected by an existing planter and significant slope, features a visually integrated staircase connecting upper and lower areas. This move emphasizes the primary dining area as the social heart of the campus, addressing the level change gracefully.

“We worked diligently to turn an underutilized lot into a safe, secure, managed environment for unhoused Angelenos to call home and get connected to services.”
