Lehrer Architects dramatically transformed this Spanish Revival home, perched on a verdant hillside, from an elegant but dark and underutilized space into a light-filled, view-oriented retreat. Our work focused on reimagining the major living areas to strengthen the connection between architecture and nature.

We preserved key historic features—arched windows, vaulted ceilings, and traditional clay tile roofing—while introducing generous glazing, garden-facing rooms, and expanded openings to create a serene, indoor-outdoor flow. Surrounded by mature palms and layered landscaping, the revitalized home now offers both privacy and a timeless balance of historic character and contemporary livability.
