Milken Community School Tyberg Arts + Innovation Lab

The client sought to reimagine their Arts and Technology programs as a central focus of their curriculum with a stunning new classroom space to match. Taking over the ground floor of a 1986 structure, the project combines three classrooms into two, with an operable white board partition, retractable to accommodate the blending of Arts and Technology programs. Despite the limitations of the existing structure, natural light is brought deep into the space with new punched openings in the brick façade, bright and playful colors, and a pair of 20’-0'' wide, full-height glass garage doors opening on the patio outside.

“There are no mistakes in art...that’s how we approach learning here. This bright, creative space is an idea incubator; our children love it.”
- Tami Weiser, Head of School, Milken School
