CSU Long Beach – Parking structure
Description
California State University Long Beach’s Parking Lot 7 welcomes visitors to the south end of the university’s campus. The renovation provides a welcoming introduction for all members of the CSULB community.
The renovation was necessitated by failing asphalt and an inefficient, bleak parking lot across a large section of the lot. Removal of the asphalt and creation of 431 new parking stalls incorporated large, drought tolerant, landscaped areas, use of Bioretention areas and pervious concrete to pretreat stormwater, thereby reducing the burden on the municipal stormwater system. The solar-ready infrastructure is in place for an imminent installation of an array with 800 kW capability.
