Los Angeles Glendale Water Reclamation Facility

Los Angeles Glendale Water Reclamation Facility

The Los Angeles-Glendale Water Reclamation Plant (LAG) project aims to create a comprehensive facility program for a campus along the 800-foot LA River waterfront.  This monument to the river stands out along the 5 freeway, offering breathtaking views of Downtown Los Angeles. Seamlessly integrating with natural and urban surroundings, the facility serves as a symbolic gesture to the river's renaissance and its vital role in the community.  Serving both within and outside Los Angeles City limits, the facility houses cutting-edge labs and control rooms for water reclamation. Positioned as a LEED Platinum facility, its design, it features a distinctive swooping roof mirroring the iconic riverbanks, symbolizes a commitment to water resources.

"The big idea behind this project is to transform waste into wonder. This innovative facility reimagines the city's vital infrastructure. It brings typically concealed infrastructure into the spotlight, especially for the hundreds of thousands of individuals passing by on the freeway.”
